Project 1: Color as Medium
Through variations in gradients and the way colors are both separated and blended together, my piece explores the respective strengths of print and digital media in ambiguously separating colors.
The digital RGB variation takes advantage of the ways colored light mixes into bright white light, demonstrated through color half tones. The CMYK version takes advantage of the tactile property of print.
It displays colors as mixed more fluidly onto smooth matte paper, and the colors are separated through embossment, which the viewer must feel to see.
